Innovation scaling: Pyrolysis Catalyst Pilot (PCP)
From laboratory research to industrial validation
Building on many years of experience in organic synthesis and a portfolio of patented solutions - including methods for producing ion-exchange catalysts and blended biofuels - GLOSAR is advancing towards the stage of industrial validation of its GLOSAR-ENERGY technology.
Our current priority is the development and certification of an industrial pilot unit for the hydrotreatment of pyrolysis oil(PCP)
Key parameters of this stage:
-Technological transition: increasing technology readiness from laboratory level (TRL 4) to industrial-pilot scale (TRL 6-7)
Performance: up to 300 litres per hour
Timeline: approximately 20 months
Application: fuel for 300 kW cogeneration units and energy clusters.
ABOUT
Private enterprise “GLOSAR” has been in the waste utilization and recycling industry for over 15 years and is the leader in its field in Ukraine. It specializes in the recycling of rubber waste (used car tiers), plastics, and other carbon-containing waste using the method of “low-temperature pyrolysis”. It also actively participates in and initiates research and experimental developments in the field of natural and technical sciences.
There are 12 employees in the company. The research and production laboratory (5 employees) is headed by the member-correspondent of the Academy of the Oil Industry Kochirko B.F., Ph.D. Under his management, the enterprise creates new, alternative types of fuel from waste.
Cooperative partnerships with the recycling enterprises of the industry (until 24th February 2022, there were 7 of them, and only 4 left after the full-scale invasion of the Russian of Ukraine) allows the enterprise to recycle up to 1000 tons of used car tiers per month. The recycling of waste is done on Ukrainian equipment of the Fortan type. The recycling sites are located in Kyiv Oblast.
